Learning at Salcombe

Children at Salcombe are encouraged to think for themselves and to take a measure of responsibility for their own conduct and organisation, particularly in the junior department, in preparation for secondary school. The enjoyment that can be derived from learning is continuously nurtured, as is the children’s thirst for knowledge.

Three parallel classes in each year group enable us to maintain our small class sizes, averaging fifteen pupils per class. This ensures that children benefit from greater individual attention from their teacher.

Specialist Teaching

Subject specialist teaching in the Junior school and for some subjects in the Infant Department allows us to provide the children with the best quality teaching possible in all subjects.
