Year 4: Pupils learn to follow simple sets of instructions to make such objects a money banks and puppets. Designing and making a pop-up story book is always fun as is their venturing into Fabric Technology with simple sewing activities.
Year 5: Children in this year group learn to construct such games objects as a small maze and a peg rocking chair culminating with a major unit in which they design special cookie containers into which they place their own baking for presentation to lucky their Mums and Dads at home.
Year 6: Designing, making, constructing and decorating such items as fridge magnets, clock frames and desk tidies are stretching but satisfying activities for our Year 6 children.
Whilst Design Technology is assessed within the school setting, it does not form part of examinations for selective secondary schools at 11+ years.
