Accelerated 11+ Preparation
Friday 20th March | Entry to Year 5 | September 2026
Limited places available. Early registration is strongly advised.
The Defining Stage Before 11+
As your child approaches Year 5, preparation for senior school entry becomes sharper, more focused and increasingly important. Without the right preparation at this stage, pupils can find the transition to 11+ increasingly challenging.
Whether you are beginning to explore Grammar or Independent School options or pathways within the state sector or simply feel your child would benefit from greater academic stretch, Salcombe Prep’s Accelerated 11+ Pathway Programme provides a clear and proven route forward.
Our approach is designed to unlock potential, build confidence and position every child to move successfully into the next stage of their education, whatever form that may take.
Academic Scholarship Opportunity
All pupils sitting the 9+ Assessment are automatically considered for a Salcombe Academic Scholarship.
Our scholarship programme recognises exceptional academic potential, ambition and attitude to learning.
Successful candidates may receive:
A fee remission award of up to 25%*
Enhanced academic enrichment opportunities
Ambassador roles within the school community
Additional stretch and leadership development
Scholarships reflect both achievement and potential, ensuring high-performing pupils are recognised and supported throughout their journey.
*Terms and conditions apply.
It's Not Too Late for 11+ Success
The 9+ entry point represents the final, focused stage of preparation before 11+ examinations begin. At this stage, preparation must be strategic, structured and outcome-driven.
All Salcombe pupils follow our highly successful 11+ Pathway Programme, ensuring they are fully prepared, both academically and pastorally, for competitive senior school entry, including Grammar, selective state and Independent Schools.
The Accelerated 9+ Pathway
For pupils joining at 9+, we introduce our Accelerated 11+ Pathway, a blended programme combining the strength of our established 11+ curriculum with targeted acceleration.
This ensures that pupils joining at this stage are rapidly brought up to speed, appropriately challenged and confidently prepared to reach their maximum potential.
The Accelerated Pathway includes:
Targeted academic preparation
Personalised programme with designated tutor support
Exam technique and structured revision
Familiarity with GL and CEM assessments
Experience of independent school entrance assessments
Past papers and exam practice
Small-group teaching with expert staff
Interview preparation
Public speaking and debate to build confidence
1:1 guidance for senior school selection

Equally, many families choose Salcombe to ensure their child is exceptionally well-prepared for strong local state secondary schools.
Our aim is not simply examination success, but confident, capable pupils ready to thrive in ambitious academic settings.
